On soul level we can actively design a healing program

Soul Reasons for Life Challenges

Without the meaning that flows from a higher view, we remain stuck in our human experience, believing (understandably) that these things should never happen. For trauma survivors on a healing journey, we need to consider the broader vision to find purpose in our suffering, and step into our soul warrior authority.

Reason 2: Healing

Our soul wishes to gain closure on previous trauma

Another reason for traumatic events happening in our life is for our healing. Old, incomplete trauma from past lives sits in our soul lineage waiting to be taken off the shelf and resolved. Anything not processed adequately in one lifetime remains as residue to be dealt with in another lifetime. Sometimes current trauma is designed to focus our attention on a specific area.

Robert Schwartz explained in our discussion that on soul level we can actively design a healing program, and organize for the “past life energies [to be] carried back into body in the current lifetime.” To get to the right spot–the feelings, thoughts, and sensations of past trauma–we need events to recreate the past, setting the tone for us to pick up where we left off. These intense conditions put us in the frame and give us an opportunity to face, feel, and finish with old experiences.

He reminded me of one case from his book, Your Soul's Plan, in which “a girl had heard her mother being shot dead, been understandably traumatized, and committed suicide later in that lifetime.” In order to heal the trauma, she had reincarnated with the same mother to “complete the healing from the last lifetime.” As a kindness, she was allowed to be born deaf. Even though a challenging disability, deafness reduced the severity of reliving the original gunshot noise, helping her cope with processing the past life trauma.

Instead of some cruel form of cosmic punishment, being born into traumatic experiences can be for our healing benefit. Usually there is a combination of reasons why we design significant life challenges, especially when dealing with severe abuse and neglect trauma. Recognising the healing function of struggle helps us move further from survivor to warrior. It can help make sense of what would otherwise be senseless.

This is an excerpt from my upcoming book, Trauma Survivor to Soul Warrior: Reconnect With Your True Self (due to be published in September 2025 by Manuscripts Press LLC).

I am looking forward to sharing it with you.
