Why This Is a Time to Slow Down, Rest, and Re-Anchor
Jan 27, 2026At the moment, everything feels amplified.
You may be sensing it too — the intensity, the emotional waves, the feeling that something is shifting beneath the surface. The energies on the planet are changing, and when that happens, everything rises to be seen.
Early in this year, we’re in what feels like a lull — a space between what was and what’s not quite here yet. And in times like this, the instinct to push forward, force action, or “get back into gear” can actually pull us further out of alignment.
This is not a season for rushing ahead.
It’s a season for rest, stillness, and grounding.
When things are changing rapidly around us, we need to anchor more deeply within ourselves. This is the time to consolidate — to come back to your body, your breath, your direction, and your truth.
The guidance we’re seeking doesn’t come through noise or urgency.
It comes through slowing down.
We only hear the quiet voice of the soul when we create space for it. We only feel our connection to the Earth, to Spirit, to our deeper knowing when we allow ourselves to pause.
Recently, my own body gave me a clear message. After pushing through busyness and momentum, I became unwell — and in hindsight, it was a blessing. It forced me to stop. To step out of constant doing and into stillness. To reconnect with spiritual practice, grounding, and rest.
Sometimes, our bodies slow us down when we won’t slow ourselves.
From that stillness came clarity. Better decisions. A deeper sense of balance between work, spiritual practice, and rest. A reminder to stay anchored rather than reactive.
When we plug back into who we truly are, we reconnect with our true north — the place where guidance flows naturally. Love refuels us there. Direction returns. We feel held and supported again.
And when we’re anchored in ourselves, the chaos of the world doesn’t disappear — but it no longer consumes us. The changes can swirl around us, while we remain steady at the centre. The eye of the storm.
If you’ve felt a strong impulse lately to slow down, rest, or withdraw a little — especially through January and February — listen to it. That impulse is wisdom.
There is nothing wrong with resting.
Nothing lacking about pausing.
Nothing weak about choosing stillness.
This is not the time to force productivity, punish the body, or push through exhaustion. This is a new environment, calling for a new way of being.
It may look like:
-
Walking barefoot on the earth
-
Sitting under a tree
-
Lying on the beach
-
Returning to sacred texts
-
Deepening spiritual practice
-
Spending time in prayer and meditation
Prayer is where we speak, ask, and express.
Meditation is where we listen and receive.
Both are needed now more than ever.
As you slow down, I see you anchoring more deeply into yourself — into your true self, your greater self, your soul warrior essence. From that place, clarity returns. Strength rises quietly. And the path forward begins to reveal itself — not through force, but through alignment.
